Tady Vám postuju jeden článek ze cwalksource.com stránku kterou vřele doporučuje všem pročíst. Napsal iKo.
“I posted a video and no one is commenting”, “Why is SA always given to others?” “Fuck the old gens!” “Cwalk is dying!” and so on. That’s what you read when you browse cwalkforums. Can we change that?
Have you ever thought about why everyone considers the cwalk to be dead? Why do all newbies seek refuge in small crews instead of being active on big cwalksites?
It’s the old Gens fault!
Yes, that’s a fact. Back then, people were crazy about new vids, epic battles and tournaments. It was fun watching mixtapes or just browsing on youtube to get new inspiration. But no one cared about the youngsters, period. We were too busy with watching our own videos instead of supporting new talents or give usable advices. “Cocky old Gens”, I read that so many times and you know what, it’s true. We are the reason why the cwalkscene has no structure, no real idols, no exciting events and no guidance. And now it’s our turn to change that. That’s where my 5 Points on how Cwalksites should treat Newbies come in.
1. Let the youngsters play!
All I can see on cwalksites are restrictions, prohibitions and bans for stupid things. Have you ever thought about how the old gens learned to cwalk? I started with cwalkin on cwalk.de and all 30 users were allowed to do anything they liked. Battles everyday, new cwalks everyday and look how the german cwalk evolved. What are you guys afraid of? Too much spam? 90% of the cwalkforums on the net are spamboards, no one is talking about cwalk anymore. All we do is give restrictions when it comes to battling and improving but on the other hand you guys have open areas for games, sport, fashion and useless shit. Newbies start to focus more on offtopic shit and the restricted cwalk area is dying. Wow, now complain again!
Let the youngsters battle, post videos, organize funny competitions, award cwalkers etc. Your board is about cwalk, so give ‘em cwalk!
2. Organize exclusive mixtapes with talented new gens!
You guys are complaining about generic walks, boring mixtapes and excessive video editting? Then do it on your own you mighty old gens! You’re complaining about topics you are able to change. Grab that new kid, support him and edit the video how you like it. Make official mixtapes every now and then, show them how good videos have to look like and the big changes will come! How should they know how to do it if no one shows them?
3. Tell them what the cwalk is about!
I don’t like cwalks on new rnb songs that much. That’s just my point of view but I think people would start thinking about how they dress, what music they chose and actually how they cwalk if you give them the chance to educate themselves. Give ‘em the opportunity to discern the whole cwalk history the same way we did. It may not work the first time, maybe 1 out of 10 cwalkers might change his mind but that’s the beginning of a big change anyway. If this one guy becomes a legend, he would spread the gospel anyway. So educate the newbies!
4. Pay particular attention!
Consider Newbies as puppies. Young dogs get aggressive and frustrated if they don’t get the love and support they need. It’s the same with newbs. Be around when they have problems, dont be upset about their mistakes, be smart and educate them. When they battle, be there and give advices and vote on that battle. That takes only 5 minutes. Newbs ask questions about topics you have already answered 100 times? Wow, I’m sorry for you. Don’t be fuckin’ egoistic, and post at least a link. It’s hard to get noticed as a new cwalker, so try to make it at least not worse.
5. Stop comparing them with the old Gens!
It’s like comparing brothers and sisters. It won’t help them if you’re always complaining about the new gens because the old gens were so much better. You’ll achieve the exact opposite and new talents get frustrated and defiant. Small bullshit crews will be created, you lose your influence and no one cares about forums anymore [Co,připomíná Vám to -to co je tady ted´]. Work on that! Old Gen Videos should be guidelines, not more.
Be open and support the new gen! We can bring back the old times if the old gens and the Admins start working on that issue again.
Reach out to the new talents, they’re the future of cwalk!
